What are the responsibilities and job description for the Higher Math / Advanced Reading Tutor position at Huntington Learning Center?
Huntington Learning Center has been helping students succeed in school for more than 45 years. We are looking for talented professionals who will help students in grades 6-12 achieve self-confidence, motivation, and academic success. Our programs support students with closing the COVID-19 gap, re-engaging in their education, reaching their goal test scores, and moving to the front of the class academically. After a paid training period to learn our methods, you will spend your time teaching and making a difference in children’s lives. We provide the curriculum and develop individualized programs for each student. Tutoring sessions occur in the centre. There are no lesson plans to create, no homework to grade. If you are interested in spending your time working directly with students, we'll give you the opportunity to do what you love to do - teach!
Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree is REQUIRED
Math OR Reading Tutors - Huntington Learning Center Is Hiring In-person, Part-time Tutors Who Have Expertise And Experience Tutoring Higher Level Math OR Reading Comprehension, Including SAT And ACT Preparation
- We are looking for tutors with knowledge of and experience teaching such math topics as Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus
- We are also looking for tutors with ability and experience tutoring SAT/high school-level Reading and Writing, including the ability to teach critical thinking, grammar rules, and writing.
Requirements Include
- 4-YEAR DEGREE IS REQUIRED: A bachelor's degree is the minimum degree-level requirement.
- This is an IN-PERSON position: A candidate must be able to work in person.
- Experience levels can vary - current and retired teachers are encouraged. Professionals with expertise in other subject areas are welcome to apply.
- Must be a caring and qualified professional committed to the success of students.
