What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Teacher/Tutor position at Huntington Learning Center?
The Huntington Learning Center in Knoxville is now hiring part-time teachers!!!
At the Huntington Learning Center, you get to what you love – teach. There are no lesson plans to write or homework assignments to grade! Teachers enjoy part-time, flexible, afternoon and weekend hours. We are hiring in all three of our principle areas of service
Academic Skills
Starting pay for work with younger children on basic reading, writing, and math skills is $17.50 per hour.
Requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Teacher Certification/License
- Must be a caring and qualified professional committed to the success of students!
- Prior teaching experience required.
- Exam Prep
Starting pay for work with high school students on ACT and SAT exam prep is $19.00 per hour.
Requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- To qualify to teach any of the four sections of the ACT, one must have a prior score of at least 30 on such section (or be able to achieve such a score of 30 on our diagnostic ACT).
- To qualify to teach the any section SAT, one must have a score of 700 out of 800 on such section (or be able to achieve such a score on our diagnostic SAT)
- Must be a caring and qualified professional committed to the success of students!
- Prior teaching, teaching assistant, or tutoring experience is preferred
- Subject Tutoring
Starting pay working with older children providing subject tutoring in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Algebra, Calculus, etc. is $19.00 per hour.
Requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a related subject
- Must be a caring and qualified professional committed to the success of students!
- Prior teaching, teaching assistant, or tutoring experience is preferred.
- All necessary training is provided to successful candidates prior to being scheduled with students. Successful candidates will be paid for required initial training time.
