CAD/GIS COORDINATOR

JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective The CAD/GIS Coordinator develops, maintains and updates the geographical information system, Cityworks asset management, and AutoCAD software.
Essential Functions
1. Operate and maintain HSB ESRI GIS database and all associated functions
2. Operate survey equipment to shoot elevations and grade for sewer layout and design
3. Responsible for meeting all state and federal regulatory requirements
4. Promotes courtesy and professionalism throughout the City of Huntington

Competencies
1. Proficiency with ESRI Geographical Information System software
2. Advanced computer skills
3. Ability to read/interpret blueprints and detailed drawings
4. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and outside engineering firms
5. Ability to work independently and make decisions
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities
Work Environment
Work is performed primarily indoors and occasionally outdoors. Employee is occasionally exposed to all types of weather conditions including extreme heat and cold. Employee is rarely exposed to raw sewage, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, talk, hear, read and write. The employee frequently must be able to manipulate writing instruments, a keyboard and mouse. The employee rarely is required to lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Schedule
This is a full-time position. Primary days of work are Monday through Friday. Must be available for 24-hour callout.
Travel
Minimal travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in GIS or related field
Two years of experience in GIS design, implementation and management
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
Preferred Education and Experience
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Valid driver’s license
