CLASS TITLE: CROSS TRAIN OPERATIONS I/ALLENGIANT AIR
DESCRIPTIVE STATEMENT:
The position requires a strong knowledge of airport operations including FAA and TSA regulations. Individual must perform airfield inspections to ensure compliance with CFR Part 139. Must respond to and assist with the control of airport disasters and emergencies at or near the airport. Individual will be trained as an Airport Rescue Firefighter. Performs administrative, operational, and limited maintenance functions as needed. Works closely with Airport Department Heads and regulatory agencies. The Allegiant position is responsible for providing customer service to all customers. Responsibilities will also include ground operations, security, and operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operations I employees are expected to perform the following, including but not limited to:
- Prompt, accurate and safe movement of passengers, pilots, aircraft and other vehicles
- Marshal aircraft, including proper placement of chocks and cones
- Greet passengers, pilots and crew
- Wing walking
- Handle aviation fuels, including maintaining quality control of fuel through various procedures and completing applicable paperwork
- Perform daily airfield inspections in accordance with FAA regulation.
- Assist with airport wildlife mitigation programs.
- Maintain personal ARFF preparedness and inspect ARFF equipment daily.
Allegiant employees are expected to perform the following:
· The ideal candidate must be people oriented, highly motivated with a positive and friendly attitude.
· Process tickets, check baggage, monitor carry-on baggage for size and quantity, and assign seats.
· Ensure FAA, Allegiant Air and airport regulations are followed.
· Enforce safety/security measures and monitors safety sensitive zones.
· Assist Customers with special needs, i.e., Customers who need assistance in boarding.
· Marshal in the planes and push back the aircraft.
· Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Must be well groomed and adhere to dress code policy.
· Ability to work efficiently under time constraints.
· Must be available to work varied hours including nights, weekends and holidays and must be able to stay late for irregular operations.
· Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug screen.
· Must have authorization to work in the U.S. as defined in the Immigrations Act of 1986.
· Able to attend required training.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
HTS provide aviation safety and customer service training for Airport Employees.
Operations I employees must meet the following requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 18 years of age
- Possess a valid state driver’s license
PREFERRED:
- Previous aviation/FBO experience
- Flight school or college experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job employees are expected to:
- Occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the Operations I employees are routinely exposed to:
- Wet and/or humid conditions
- Moving mechanical parts
- High, precarious places
- Fumes or airborne particles
- Extreme cold and extreme heat
- Moderate noise level
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Must be able to work independently and have a firm familiarity with FAA and TSA rules and regulations by end of probation period. Must be able to make sound decisions and exercise good judgment. Must have the ability to plan and organize training programs and events. Must have the ability to work effectively with management and other public employees, airport tenants, and other citizens. Must be able to carry 70 pound suitcase from the floor to 18 inches and carry 70 pound suitcase in front of you with both hands for a distance of up to 25 feet; must have physical dexterity sufficient to perform repetitive tasks and motions, including bending at the waist and knees, squatting, kneeling, crawling, twisting and sustaining those positions for extended amounts of time. Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employment may be contingent upon completion of a background investigation and drug testing. Employee must maintain appropriate security status at all times.Airport environment: indoor and outdoor. Will be working in outdoor conditions where temperature ranges from hot in summer and cold in the winter. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
