Description
The Wayfinder interacts with customers in a courteous, efficient, friendly and professional manner, while manning a post/station specific to the terminal. A key part of this role is communicating with customers and you will be responsible for providing direction and navigation to travelers at Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA). The Wayfinder assists passengers within the terminal with general questions regarding directions, terminal services, or arranging wheelchair access. Excellent Customer Services will be needed as you will handle customer complaints. In some instances, air terminal attendants may function as translators and work with foreign travelers.
- Manages the flow of passengers at various locations of specific terminal locations
- Provides navigation and information to traveling passengers to ensure they are provided a positive airport DCA experience
- Can stand and stay located in one specific area of a terminal
- Assisting passengers by answering questions, providing directions, or attending to their other needs. This includes helping passengers with inquiries about delayed or lost baggage.
- Provides assistance to distressed passengers and customers.
- Possesses the physical ability and dexterity to use motor skills to perform various job-related tasks.
- Uses organizational skills to perform multiple tasks within a limited time period.
- Is self-motivated and requires minimal supervision.
- Responds and assists during security and emergency situations.
- Follows internal/external policies and procedures.
- Due to flight operations Customer Service Agents work shifts that include irregular and/or extended hours, weekends and holidays.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have High School Diploma or equivalent education
- Must be able to pass a security/background check.
- Must meet all requirements to receive required airport SIDA badge and Customs Seal (if applicable), including ten-year work history if available
- MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS AS NEEDED.
Skills:
- Minimum one-year customer service experience preferred
- Excellent communication skill sets
- Problem solving ability
