Job Title : Building Supervisor
Department : Parks & Facilities
Classification : Part-Time
Target Hiring Range : $16.00 - $18.50 Hourly DOQ
IMRF Position : No
Directly Reports To : Facilities Operations Supervisor
The building supervisor assists in the day-to-day operations and insures the facility is safe, clean, and supervised during operation. This individual is responsible for managing patron issues and customer service related to the facility, making sure that all patron and safety issues and concerns are addressed. In addition, this individual must have the ability to work early mornings, nights, weekend and holiday hours as necessary.
Requirements :
1. Must be at least 18 years of age.
2. High School Diploma or GED required, some college preferred.
3. First Aid, AED, and CPR certification or ability to obtain within six months of hiring.
4. Excellent communication (written and verbal), organizational, and customer service skills are required.
5. Must possess a valid Illinois State Driver’s License.
6. Able to work extended hours including nights / weekends and holidays.
7. Ability to understand and exhibit behavior consistent with park district policies.
8. Prior to employment a successful criminal background check must be completed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Open and close (secure) facility after rentals / programs.
2. Set up and take down tables, chairs and any needed equipment.
3. Provide customer service by effectively responding to customer questions, comments, and concerns.
4. Perform general custodial tasks, light cleaning, trash removal and any related tasks.
5. Employee must complete the necessary forms for accidents and incidents.
6. Ability to follow directions and work with the general public.
7. Interact with co-workers, general population / park patrons in a professional and positive manner.
8. Ability to resolve differences and situations that arise with staff and patrons.
9. Responsible for observing, and providing feedback to staff regarding their performance.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. While performing this job, the employee is required to speak and listen, stand, walk, use hands, sit, stoop, or kneel, bend and lift and / or move up to 40 pounds.
2. Employee must have the physical agility to maintain mobility from site to site and be able to perform manual tasks.
3. Must be able to operate any mechanical equipment necessary to prepare a facility for an event.
4. Employee may perform duties, which include, but not limited to lifting, stooping, bending, twisting, and climbing.
5. Employee may need to stand for prolonged periods of time.
6. Specific vision requirements include, distance, color vision, peripheral and depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
7. Must be able to maintain a safe and well-organized workspace.

PSYCHOLOGICAL CONSIDERATIONS
1. Must be able to function in stressful situations, such as when 1st aid, or CPR is required.
2. Must be able to follow directions with safe follow through and exercise good judgment and safety awareness.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS
1. Employee may be exposed to chemicals (cleaning materials).
2. Employee is exposed to indoor and outside weather conditions including extreme heat and humidity, cold, and rain due to working indoor and outdoor.
3. Employee must operate and handle assigned equipment as trained.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assure a safe and hazard free environment by inspecting and taking the necessary action to correct and safeguard against potential problems and / or accidents.
2. Must comply with all safety policies and procedures now in effect or adopted in the future.
3. Worker must be able to follow directions with safe follow through and exercises good judgement and safety awareness.
4. Worker will use all required PPE.
5. All unsafe conditions are to be reported to your supervisor immediately.
