Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP, an international law firm, is actively recruiting a Benefits Administrator in Richmond. This position administers the benefits programs of the firm and provides day-to-day supervision of Benefits Coordinator. The Benefits Administrator oversees annual benefits enrollment process, firm-wide wellness program, and other programs as needed. Communicates directly and in writing with partners and staff on a frequent basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Oversees the day-to-day functions of benefit programs, including but not limited to Medical, Dental, Vision, AD&D, Wellness, Voluntary, and Flexible Spending Accounts. Collaborates with and directs program vendors to ensure proper administration and resolve issues. Drafts communications regarding benefits programs.
2. Ensures that the benefit programs are in compliance with federal regulations including Medicare, ERISA HIPAA, and the Affordable Care Act. Prepares and communicates reports, notices and procedures appropriately.
3. Provides customer service to lawyers and staff on a variety of benefits issues, participating in responding to Benefits HelpLine inquiries. Communicates regularly with HR Managers and HR staff to improve understanding of various benefit issues and processes.
4. Conducts analysis, provides recommendations and assists with development and implementation of new benefit programs and initiatives.
5. Oversees implementation of annual benefits enrollment process, which may include travel to firm U.S. offices. Works with systems personnel to develop continuously improving automated enrollment processes and to maximize the usage of benefit processes through employee self-service. Prepares printed and on-line communication.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of job related experience required, preferably in a law firm, professional services, or other client relationship-based organization. Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Travel may be required. Availability and willingness to work hours as needed to meet critical deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications. Strong commitment to client service excellence and teamwork. Must possess the highest standards of ethical conduct and professionalism. Must act as catalyst for change, drive and own results. Creative and innovative. Excellent communication skills (oral, written and listening) and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse group of professionals. Sound judgment and flexibility. Ability to work well under pressure, patience, diplomacy, high stress tolerance, excellent interpersonal communication skills, ability to prioritize workload and adapt to changing conditions. Visual acuity needed to process and read extensive written communications. Ability to receive and convey detailed information through oral communication. Essential competency processes include language ability, reasoning and memory.
