Physical Testing Technician

Huntsman is seeking a Physical Testing Technician supporting the Shared Services located in HATC, Texas . This position will report to the Physical Testing Manager.

Job Scope

Candidate will provide support to HPP, HPU and Advanced Materials research personnel by performing measurements, sample machining, sample aging, physical property measurement, mechanical testing, smoke and flame testing.

In summary, as the Physical Testing Technician, you will :

• Perform routine measurements and analyses by accurately and efficiently following written standard methods.
• Prepare specimens for testing using saws, drills, grinders, sanders, routers, CNC machine and Water Jet cutter.
• Handle heavy loads safely (up to 50 lbs).
• Schedule testing and report results on samples received for testing.
• Maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot and repair laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
• Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed. If applicable, ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure required staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives.
• Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.
• Assists other employees in accomplishments of Huntsman company goals. Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
• Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company. Participates in and completes company-required training programs.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
