What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Mascot position at Huntsville City FC?
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Do you enjoy entertaining and connecting with fan bases big and small? Huntsville City Football Club is looking for a highly energetic, spirited, and motivated individual to perform as the club’s mascot. This position will be a key part in all aspects of the Huntsville City Football Club brand: making memories, developing new fans, impacting the community, and using their talents to create a quality mascot product year-round.

- Must be an outgoing individual who works well with others, including children and fans of all ages.
- Must be in good physical condition to both wear heavy costumes and stand or walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to nonverbally command and communicate with a crowd.
- Must be able to read social cues to understand the level of interaction each audience may want.
- Ideal applicants for the position will have an upbeat, energetic attitude and be motivated to generate team spirit and smiles both in and out of costume.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in maintaining the Huntsville mascot’s brand and character image.
- Perform as the Huntsville City FC’s mascot at home matches and community appearances as requested.
- Participate in the filming of commercials, social media, and other promotional videos.
- Assist in keeping an accurate inventory of all props, costumes, mascot merchandise, etc., and work with the organization to place orders for needed items.
- Maintain the integrity of mascot costumes and outfits, including creation, cleaning, and repair.
- Brainstorm and implement creative elements, including, but not limited to mascot skits, in-stadium video content, in-game contests, and entertainment.
- Operate machinery such as T-shirt cannons to distribute promotional items.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 2 years previous semi‐pro or professional mascot experience, College mascot experience is a plus.
- Candidate height requirements for this position must range between 5’10” - 6’3”
- Superb communication and leadership skills, both written and interpersonal
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
- Must have clean driving record.
- Must be high energy and able to traverse arena, including up and down stairs, and able to move objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Background check and drug screening is required.
- Must be in the Huntsville area or willing to commute to Huntsville.
