Huntsville City Football Club is actively seeking a professional and dependable groundskeeper to assist the Stadium Operations Manager in daily maintenance operations and ensure the playing surface follows Club, MLS, and FIFA standards.
This position is based in Huntsville, Alabama. Rocket City!
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Groundskeeper, in conjunction with the Stadium Operations Team, will be responsible for maintaining the synthetic field at the Huntsville City FC facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with maintenance of synthetic fields at Huntsville City FC facilities - including but not limited to Huntsville City FC’s trainings, home matches, concerts, football games and other sporting events.
- Complete preventive maintenance on various pieces of equipment and ensure all equipment remains in working and operational condition.
- Maintain daily field maintenance.
- Perform other duties to support the Huntsville City FC facilities.
Qualifications:
- 2 years relevant work experience in maintaining sports fields, golf courses or home lawn/landscape preferred.
- Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented and deadline driven.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Hours are variable and will include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work in various degrees of outdoor weather conditions, including but not limited to, extreme heat and cold or rain.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout assigned workday.
- Ability to work in various positions, including but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time.
