Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures implementation to fidelity of the district’s Consent Order through district-level and school-level oversight.
- Works collaboratively with the Superintendent and Directors of Instruction to develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive strategy for implementation of the district’s Consent Order.
- Develops and implements short and long-term school-level and district-level plans linked to Consent Order metrics and identifies trends in student data for the purpose of evaluating the effectiveness and alignment with the district’s Consent Order.
- Works collaboratively with school leaders and central office team members to respond to any requests for information related to the Consent Order.
- Works collaboratively with the Desegregation Advisory Committee (“DAC”), including attending DAC meetings, arranging the scheduling of DAC meetings, responding to DAC requests for information, and serving as a liaison between the DAC and the district.
- Works collaboratively with the district’s legal team to conduct strategic analysis for the purpose of developing clear and quantifiable goals and objectives for Consent Order implementation for each remaining Green
- Identifies, supports, and monitors training and strategies for addressing student achievement gaps and discipline disparities.
- Advises the Superintendent, Board members, and community on matters related to the Consent Order as directed by the Superintendent.
- Provides counsel and direction to principals and administrators on educational equity issues related to Consent Order implementation.
- Identifies emerging local, state, national, and global educational trends and techniques related to the implementation of the district’s Consent Order and uses knowledge to recommend and develop opportunities for innovation within the school district.
- Works directly with other district leaders to conceive ideas, anticipate next steps for future strategy implementation, and ensure that district-wide initiatives are in alignment with the Consent Order and will meet student learning and community workforce readiness needs.
- Administers the development, implementation, and maintenance of the magnet program and ensures alignment with district vision, policies, and goals for serving a desegregated student body.
- Implements the application, selection, and enrollment process for magnet schools and programs.
- Sustains positive public relations with students, students’ families, and the local community to increase magnet program awareness to promote participation in the program; coordinates student recruitment efforts for the magnet program within the school district.
- Collaborates with district leaders to ensure that each magnet program/school offers a unique theme that is integrated into the curriculum offered at each magnet program/school.
- Coordinates staff development services and activities for assigned personnel based on curriculum and student learning goals, including in-service programs, seminars, conferences, workshops, etc., to address professional learning needs within the magnet program.
- Provides leadership and supervision over assigned personnel to ensure employees have a clear understanding of their job responsibilities.
- Selects personnel and conducts performance appraisals on assigned employees and makes recommendations for appropriate employment action to ensure a standard of accountability is met as defined by the school’s goals and objectives, as well as the policies established by the Huntsville City School System.
- Provides and ensures employees’ participation in professional developmental training opportunities as needed to perform their job duties.
- Responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving operating procedures to improve efficiency and effective use of school resources.

Qualifications
A Master’s Degree from an accredited college and/or university in a related field with a minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience. Three (3) years of educational administration experience required. Must possess state certification in educational leadership.
Physical Requirements
Exerts 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
Terms of Employment
Twelve month year. Salary as recommended by the Superintendent and approved by the Board.
