Job Description
Job Title: Food/Kitchen/Expediter
PLEASE NOTE: ANTICIPATED START DATE OF MARCH 15TH, 2023
Full or Time Position
Supervised By: Food & Beverage Manager/ Assistant Food & Beverage Manager
Basic Qualifications:
Education/Training:
Prior server or kitchen experience.
Customer focus, and good physical condition
Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation.
Skills:
1. Ability to understand oral and written instructions.
2. Complete understanding of club computer system and the ability to make adjustments/corrections to the system.
3. Outstanding communication skills.
4. Works effectively/efficiently without supervision.
General Responsibilities:
- Ensure member satisfaction by making time spent at HGC both enjoyable and time efficient.
- Ensure the efficient flow of orders from the waiters to the kitchen. Must be available to work flexible shifts.
- Maintain a friendly and professional attitude/disposition at all times.
- Ability to work within all food service restaurants areas, i.e. A’la Carte dining, banquet, patio, etc.
- Serve as an instructor to new employees. Responsible for direct training of new staff as it relates to food service procedures.
- Oversee order preparation work to ensure orders are being prepared with the correct priority.
- Know all club food and beverage menus. Basic understanding of item preparation.
- Know proper food/beverage pronunciation and demonstrate this at all times during table service.
- Possess a good understanding of food/beverage relationship, be able to make recommendations.
- Be familiar with member names and preferences.
Essential Duties:
- Replenish all condiments on tables and in refrigerators.
- Check dishes before they leave the kitchen for accuracy.
- Oversee garnishing tasks and make sure that food presentation standards are effectively met.
- Assuring the level of food that leaves the kitchen to be of good quality.
- Observe cooking times, and provide chefs with information on delivery timelines.
- Proper appearance and grooming as set by service manual.
- Explain special orders to the cooks, and tell servers when the kitchen is out of a particular menu item.
- Eliminate obstacles in service, food preparation lines or dishwashing
- Practice good housekeeping in assigned work area, server station and kitchen.
- Report problems or violations of club policies to Club or Assistant Manager.
- Give suggestions for the improvement of the restaurant’s offerings and reputation.
- Make Jr. Level Servers aware of mistakes – assist them in making corrections.
- Assist with room and food set up.
- Other jobs/duties as determined by Supervisor/s.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $10.00 - $14.00 per hour
