About the Role :
The Director of Nursing is a critical leadership position responsible for the overall planning, direction, and supervision of the nursing department. This includes ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, managing nursing staff, and fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee all aspects of nursing care within the facility, ensuring residents' needs are met with dignity and respect.
- Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Manage and supervise nursing staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Create and maintain a positive and supportive work environment for nursing staff.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement resident care plans.
- Monitor resident care to ensure quality and identify areas for improvement.
- Manage the nursing budget and resources effectively.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of resident care.
- Investigate and resolve resident and family concerns.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for residents and staff.
- Participate in facility surveys and quality assurance activities.
- Stay current with best practices in nursing and healthcare regulations.
