Responsibilities

The unit director is responsible for the administration and supervision of a nursing unit, 24 hours a day. She/he evaluates patient acuity to provide the best nursing care possible with the resources available. She/he is responsible for all nursing activities related directly or indirectly to patient care. The unit director gives direct nursing care to patients as needed. Reports to theVice President of Patient Care and is classified as a management position.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required Education: BSN preferred. Minimum of five years of experience in a charge nurse capacity in area of specialty with proven leadership abilities.
