Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Coding Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately coding medical records and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of patient data and facilitating efficient medical billing processes. The Coding Specialist will work closely with healthcare providers to ensure that all coding practices align with current regulations and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze patient medical records to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services rendered.
• Utilize ICD-10 to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement.
• Collaborate with medical office staff to clarify documentation and resolve discrepancies in coding.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, coding guidelines, and compliance regulations.
• Assist in the management of medical records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Support the medical billing process by providing necessary information for claims submission.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance coding skills and knowledge.

Skills

• Proficiency in medical coding systems including ICD-10
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare regulations.
• Experience in medical collection and billing processes is preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with healthcare providers and staff.
