What are the responsibilities and job description for the (Part-Time) Golf Course Maintenance Worker position at Huron-Clinton Metroparks?
PAY RATE: $15.70 per hour (up to 1,500 hours per year).
Eligible part-time employees will receive up to a $5.75 per hour retention bonus for all hours worked from Memorial Day through Labor Day. For details, click here.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Work activities in this position primarily involve the maintenance of the golf course.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The list below is intended to describe the general nature of duties only. Employee shall perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintains and weeds flower beds.
- Maintains and cares for trees, plants, and shrubs.
- Mowing of greens, tees, fairways and rough using specialized mowing equipment
- Operates a weed whip.
- Operates a Cushman.
- Performs cup placement on greens.
- Maintains golf cart fleet.
- Performs building maintenance.
- Performs golf range maintenance.
- Keeps buildings and grounds clean.
- Paints buildings and signs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 18 years old.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work varied hours depending upon park demands.
- Ability to traverse sandy, marshy or wooded areas with even or uneven terrain.
- Ability to get along with co-workers, supervisors, and park visitors.
- Will be required to work assigned Special Events, Weekends, Evenings and Holidays.
- Will be required to adjust schedule to meet organizational needs.
- Ability to perform essential duties.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Ability to load, unload and move materials from one location to another.
