The Financial Services Subject Matter Expert (SME) will join our Customer Attrition & Retention Pod, a specialized team focused on helping clients better engage their target customers through a combination of better customer experience, better use of data, and better use of technology (e.g., customer engagement platforms). By leveraging deep industry expertise, design thinking, and personalized engagement strategies, you will help create customer experiences that foster loyalty and long-term retention for our clients.
This role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, a passion for building and iterating quickly, and the ability to work directly with clients to define and implement solutions tailored to their needs. We are looking for someone who will thrive in an agile, pod-based structure, working alongside product managers, solution architects, industry SMEs, design specialists, change experts, and client-facing consultants. This fast-paced environment enables rapid prototyping, testing, and refinement of market offerings to meet evolving client needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with the agile pod team to design and refine market offerings that align with industry trends, regulatory changes, and evolving client needs in retail and commercial banking.
- Conduct industry research and analyze market trends to identify competitive pressures, regulatory shifts, and emerging technologies, shaping both internal offerings and client strategies.
- Support client engagements from discovery to implementation, working cross-functionally to gather requirements and define tailored solutions, ensuring solutions align with banking business processes.
- Advise clients, providing recommendations on reducing customer churn, improving retention, and enhancing customer engagement.
- Support client workshops and strategy sessions, capturing and documenting client requirements, business needs, and key insights to inform solution design and implementation.
- Translate complex solution parameters into industry-specific language and context, ensuring clients understand and adopt new processes, technology, and data strategies.
- Contribute to business development and thought leadership, supporting pre-sales efforts and developing whitepapers, strategic insights, and best practices to position the firm as a leader in financial services retention strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in financial services, with a strong understanding of retail and commercial banking business models, customer lifecycle management, and industry-specific challenges.
- Understanding of emerging technologies and digital transformation trends, including AI-driven analytics, open banking, and customer data platforms.
- Ability to synthesize complex industry trends into actionable insights, supporting strategic decision-making for both internal teams and clients.
- Ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels to drive alignment and decision-making.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate financial concepts and data-driven insights into clear, compelling narratives.
- Experience working in small, nimble teams and adapting to fast-changing priorities.
- Experience working in a virtual and distributed team environment, effectively collaborating across time zones and geographies using digital communication and project management tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%.
The estimated base salary for this job is $140,000 - $170,000. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron’s pay for performance philosophy. Inclusive of annual incentive compensation opportunity, the total estimated compensation range for this job is $161,000 - $212,500. The job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future.
