Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director, the Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for providing clinical respiratory and cardiopulmonary procedures for patients according to defined policies and procedures of the department and the hospital. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the needs of the patient. Administers all types of routine and special respiratory therapy including medical gasses, drugs, and life support equipment. Frequently consults with physicians concerning the effects of treatment modalities and equipment. Performs additional procedures including but not limited to cardiac stress testing, ECG's, Holter Monitoring, and pulmonary function testing.

Other Job Duties:
- Assumes personal responsibility to complete all required competencies, certifications, annual HealthStream education and SQSS tasks within the assigned timeframes.

- Works stand by and call shifts as scheduled.
Requirements
- Graduate of an AMA approved school of Respiratory Care. Registered or certified by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
- Current Respiratory Care Practitioner license in the State of South Dakota required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and NRP.
