Job Description*
The Manager of Safety, Onboarding and Training is responsible for keeping the company in full DOT compliance and will support the safety culture of the company. This role will facilitate communication and cooperation between management, drivers and employees on safety issues. The Manager of Safety, Onboarding and Training will provide direction on DOT regulations, company policies and procedures to newly contracted / employed drivers. The Manager of Safety, Onboarding and Training will develop and implement programs and policies to facilitate the processes for the Recruiting and Orientation departments to maximize time management and ensure safety related material is accurately and completely delivered to drivers during orientation. The Manager of Safety, Onboarding and Training will report to the Director of Risk Management.
Summary of Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions *
· Promote and protect Hurricane Express and all related companies. Is responsible for all aspects of safety.
· Assist with the administration of the company drug testing program. Primarily for the pre-employment process, but also assist with random, reasonable suspicion and post-accident if needed.
· Provide Safety related training and guidance to new drivers in Orientation. This may include presentations, group activities, and one on one counseling. Provide guidance to Orientation staff on safety related issues.
· Set up new drivers in company operating systems, vendor websites, etc. as needed.
· Ensure medical requirements as required by FMCSA are met in regard to new Drivers to the company. To include DOT physicals, use of certified medical examiners and ensure the medical certificate is submitted to driver’s licensing state.
· Direct and oversee compliance with Driver Qualification files to ensure full compliance with DOT regulations prior to Orientation completion.
· Complete new driver setup in Omnitracs, and train users as needed.
· Perform truck inspections for Orientation drivers and communicate with Maintenance to resolve any issues that may arise.
· Available outside of normal business hours as needed to address safety related issues.
· With Management direction, assist in creating, modifying, and implementing safety policies and procedures to increase compliance with regulations and company policies.
· Increase safety awareness by providing comprehensive and consistent training, both regulatory and company mandated, for new drivers and employees.
· Participate in training and development programs to stay current on changes to the regulations.
· Coordinate with other Safety Managers to, train and supervise all current and future support personnel in the Safety Department as needed.
· Other duties as assigned by the company.

Pay: $45,515.00 - $53,417.00 per year
