Qualifications Required
Must pass an uphill MIG bend test
Ability to travel is a must
Job Duties
- Set up, use and maintain Lincoln and Miller welders
- Maintain PPE’s
- Interpret project blueprints
- Read and take measurements
- MIG weld all roots, fills and caps on 516 70 steel boilers to comply with welding standards
- Use cranes to move boilers and parts throughout shop
- Repair minor weld defects with angle and pencil grinders
- Repair leaking weld defects with stick welding method
- Maintain a clean work environment
- Comply with OSHA standards
- Follow orders from Road Crew Supervisor
- MUST BE ABLE TO TRAVEL DAYS OR WEEKS AT TIME
Skills Required
- Ability to operate hand held machinery
- Attention to detail
- Timeliness and punctuality
- General understanding of welding procedures
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use hand held power tools and welders for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift objects over 40 pounds
- Ability to work in tight spaces
- Ability to work in maintained high temperatures
