Hurt and Proffitt is seeking a Land Surveying Intern to join our team for the summer to learn and assist with various tasks related to land surveying out of our Blacksburg office. The intern will work under the supervision of experienced surveyors and gain hands-on experience in the field. This position is open to current High School Juniors and Seniors.
**Responsibilities:**
- Assist in conducting field surveys including boundary, topographic, and construction surveys.
- Learn how to operate surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS equipment, and data collectors.
- Help in collecting, processing, and analyzing survey data.
- Observe the drafting side of survey maps and reports using CAD software.
- Support surveyors in ensuring accuracy and quality control of survey work.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
**Qualifications:**
- Current High School Junior or Senior.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges in the field of land surveying.
