Heidelberg Web Carton Converting - Flexo Service Technician
Location: Kennesaw GA, Charlotte NC
What we are looking for:
We are looking for an experienced Flexo Service Technician that can provide remote and on-site troubleshooting service to our customers; as well as functional and quality testing of machines, assemblies, and spare parts.
A candidate that can provide technical support to reduce downtime for our installed customer base. This is done by analyzing, diagnosing and troubleshooting failures on the customer's equipment, via telephone, Remote Service, or e-mail. This must be done in relation to the configuration and technical specifications of the installed equipment.
What you will do:
- Install new equipment
- Troubleshoot technical/automation issues
- Service Repair works
- Implement hardware and software upgrades
- Perform maintenance
- Inspect machine status
- Instruct customers on how to operate their machine and drive performance
- Support the assembly in Germany
- Plan and coordinate technical customer initiatives (e.g., for inspections)
- Assembly and commissioning of machines, assemblies and spare parts in operation as well as at customers premises.
- To assist the Technical Clarification Specialist with more detailed technical and analytic support
- Execution and evaluation of plant inspections. Provide and rep[ort details of inspection back to headquarters.
- Participation in the creation of machine checklists and service intervention feedback.
- Customer training and consultancy in maintenance and troubleshooting of HWCC machines
- Available to perform repairs to machines in the field upon supervisor’s approval.
- Maintain Product knowledge via the following:
1. On-the-Job trainings.
2. Attending training courses in Heidelberg PMAs.
3. Attending additional training courses which are specific for telephone and remote support.
4. Self-learning using materials provided by the Global Technology Center / HDM - Work closely with the teams in all GSC and HWWC relating to technical escalations and Product quality.
- Monthly reporting
- Work with the parts department assisting them with Part clarification --> parts specialist in the GSC or additional task for defined people
- Planning of service visits in coordination with HWCC and HUS
- Actively increase the content of our knowledge databases
- Work closely with 3rd party Vendors on technical site based on the SLA
- Testing / Inspecting returned parts if requested before parts can go back into stock as good not needed --> only US
- Field test and new product assistance:
1. integrated in field test actions for product changes or new products --> additional task for specific persons in collaboration with HWCC and Knowledge management (GSC)
2. assisting HWCC during field test phase in a project. Feedback, open points, needed changes…….
Skills:
- Electrical and mechanical aptitude, preferably with previous structured training (esp., electrical training)
- Ability to work independently and reliably on capital equipment
- Willingness to travel
- Initiative to drive and implement product and customer projects
Education and Experience
- Three to five years of applicable work experience
- Knowledge of SPS programming, automation technology, and drive technology beneficial
- Previous work experience on flexo presses beneficial
- Previous project management training beneficial
- Industrial equipment experience
