What we are looking for:
Ensure that all tax compliance and payment activities are timely performed; ensure that all tax processes and policies comply with Federal, State and Local requirements; ensure that all tax planning and tax strategies enhance shareholder value while being compliant with applicable laws and regulatory bodies.
What you will do:
- Ensure the timely filing of all federal, state and local income, franchise and excise tax returns for all legal entities within the Heidelberg Group; including timely payments of tax and all related and required schedules.
- Manage IRS, state and local income, franchise, excise and sales and use tax audits to ensure compliance with the laws while paying no more than legally required.
- Work with the CFO, Legal, Accounting and the German tax function to ensure that all OECD and US requirements for related party transactions (transfer pricing) are within the required norms and appropriately documented; including any strategic planning.
- Work with Corporate accounting and the Financial auditors (PwC) to complete the annual audit. Perform quarterly tax accounting calculations, tax calculations required for budget purposes and any required true-ups to ensure compliance with IFRS requirements
- Train, teach and mentor staff to have succession planning and to ensure professional growth
- Identify and mitigate any tax risk or opportunity using planning techniques allowable based on legal requirements and to US and/or German management based on proper communications
- Need to understand, interpret and apply various tax laws for multiple authorities and the required accounting policies under IFRS.
