Distillery Helper

Looking for highly motivated/detail-oriented individual experience in brewing/distilling a plus, but not required. Willing to train dependable individuals willing to do whatever is needed and have a positive attitude throughout. Need to be able to work independently when needed reporting and communicating abnormal conditions/results when they arise. Dogged determination for consistency is needed. Maintaining a clean work environment will be a requirement.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Complete daily tasks with limited assistance examples include not limited to:
  1. cleaning (equipment, floors, walls, whatever is needed)
  2. bottling
  3. operating distillation related equipment
  4. maintenance activities
  5. mash sampling
  6. basic chemistry
  7. record keeping
  8. forklift operation
  9. preparing and filling barrels
• Maintain a clean work area
• Follow procedures and work rules
• Responsible sensory analysis of distilled products
• Complete paperwork accurately without assistance
• Operate equipment safely with limited assistance
• Willingness to perform a broad spectrum of duties with a great attitude while learning the distillery processes
• Abide by safety trainings/rules work safely
• Report unsafe conditions and or equipment to management

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Bachelor of Science a plus, but not required
• Experience in brewing or distilling a plus, but not required

Physical And Mental Demands

• Ability to work off shift and weekends as needed
• Frequently required to sit, stand, and kneel
• Strong basic math skills
• Ability to multitask and maximize time utilization
• Occasionally work at elevated height
• Occasionally work in confined spaces
• Efficient communicator
• Clear legible handwriting
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Occasionally move more than 50lbs with assistance of lifting equipment or other team member
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to analyze situations logically to identify causes and draw solid conclusions
• Ability to anticipate the consequences of a situation
• Ability to modify one's own behavior to meet the expectations of others
• Ability to sustain one's own emotions from interfering with responding effectively to internal and external customer needs
• Exposure to indoor and outdoor environments that include extreme cold, wet, or hot weather.
• Exposure to steam vapor and hot equipment
• Exposure to alcohol odor/vapor
• Exposure to moving vehicles such as trucks, forklifts, tow motors, etc.
• Exposure to a loud and congested work environment
• Maintain regular work attendance during scheduled hours
