Your Role & Responsibilities
As a Newborn Care Specialist and/or Postpartum Doula, you will play a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of newborns while empowering parents. Your responsibilities will include:
- Infant feeding – Assisting with breast and bottle feeding to ensure proper nourishment
- Bottle & pump part sanitation – Cleaning, sterilizing, and preparing feeding equipment
- Diapering & basic infant care – Keeping infants comfortable and well-cared for
- Sleep support – Establishing and maintaining healthy sleep routines
- Soothing & comfort – Helping babies settle back to sleep as needed
- Tracking schedules & routines – Logging feedings, diaper changes, and sleep patterns
- Nursery upkeep – Keeping baby’s space tidy and organized
- Parent education – Offering guidance on newborn care best practices
Qualifications & Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
✔ Completion of a Newborn Care Specialist or Postpartum Doula Training (or be an RN with newborn-specific experience)
✔ Residency or accommodations in the DMV
✔ Infant CPR certification (or willingness to renew/obtain)
✔ Reliable transportation
✔ Up-to-date Tdap vaccination
✔ Must be 18 years or older
✔ A commitment to inclusive, judgment-free care for families of all backgrounds
