Your Role & Responsibilities
As a Newborn Care Specialist and/or Postpartum Doula, you will be instrumental in ensuring the well-being and development of newborns. Your key duties will include:
- Infant feeding – Ensuring proper nourishment through bottle or breastmilk feeding
- Bottle & pump part sanitation – Cleaning, sterilizing, and preparing feeding equipment
- Diapering & basic infant care – Promptly changing diapers and keeping infants comfortable
- Sleep support – Assisting in creating and maintaining healthy sleep habits
- Soothing & comfort – Helping babies settle back to sleep as needed
- Tracking schedules & routines – Logging sleep patterns, feedings, and diaper changes
- Nursery upkeep – Maintaining a tidy, organized space for the baby
- Parent education – Providing guidance on newborn care best practices
Qualifications & Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
✔ Completed a Newborn Care Specialist or Postpartum Doula Training (or be an RN with newborn-specific experience)
✔ Residency or accommodations in the DMV area or Baltimore, MD
✔ Daytime availability (For overnight roles, check our other DMV job listings)
✔ Infant CPR certification (or willingness to renew/obtain)
✔ Reliable transportation
✔ Up-to-date Tdap vaccination
✔ Must be 18 years or older
