POSITION TYPE: Year-round, may be eligible for benefits after a 90 day review period
PAY RATE: $18.00-$20.00/hr.
SUPERVISORY: NO SUPERVISED BY: Building Maintenance Manager
POSITION SUMMARY: Professional maintenance of Schweitzer facilities and contract repair.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Electrical, plumbing, carpentry repairs. Must have basic to advanced knowledge in at least two of these areas. Works in all Schweitzer Mountain Resort buildings and private condos. Must know how to operate hand and power tools, snow, and ice removal equipment (snowblowers, shovels, Pulaski’s); will move furniture and supplies; will work with paint, drywall, insulation, etc. Will work closely with landscape contractors, become familiar with all aspects of Village grounds and irrigation systems. Must present a neat clean and safe appearance and deal with guests in a pleasant service-oriented manner. Must log in information on job forms and hours worked. Must be flexible to move from one job to another.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Must have extensive knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain facilities and activities. Responsibilities are listed as guidelines and the position is not necessarily limited to these items.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
SKILLS: Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or an expert in one area.
EDUCATION: English reading, writing and communication, basic math.
EXPERIENCE: Four years’ experience in building maintenance.
LICENSE NEEDED: Valid insurable Idaho driver’s license. Must be 21 years of age or older.
REQUIRED: Passing a background check, valid driver’s license and insurable.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Moves from one job to the other. Can vary position at will but required to complete paperwork for up to ½ hour will stand/walk for up to 7.5 hours. Break available, will lift up to 25lbs frequently, up to 50lbs occasionally, 1-2 times per week could lift up to 100lbs. Assistance available. Will bend, squat, kneel, climb, twist, and reach above shoulder level frequently, will use hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation. Foot control used occasionally, sensory skills of hearing, vision, speech, and touch needed. Worksite is 50% outside and 50% inside, exposed to all temperatures and moisture conditions. Hazards are dusts, paints, insulation, mechanical, electrical, burns and snow/ice. Dust masks, ear plugs, safety glasses, cold weather clothing, coveralls, and jackets are worn for safety and comfort.
MACHINES OR TOOLS OPERATED: Hand and power tools, company vehicles.
