Description

The New England School of Communications is looking for a part-time adjunct faculty member to teach the Audio for Video course within the BS Video / Film Production degree. VF 212 Audio for Video meets once per week in a face-to-face format on the Bangor Campus on Wednesdays 3 : 00pm - 6 : 00pm EST. This opening is during the Fall 2024 semester (9 / 02 / 24-12 / 20 / 24)

This course is designed to instruct students in the acquisition, control, processing and purpose of audio in video production and digital filmmaking. Students learn the technology, techniques and requirements for adding additional audio soundtracks to raw digital video footage as well as proper editing techniques. This course covers a wide array of audio topics including : microphone dynamics and designs, placement, audio acquisition, mixing techniques for mono, stereo, and basic 5.1 surround sound, sound effects, dynamics processing, multiple microphone mixing, basic ADR and Foley acquisition and applications.

Examples of Duties

• Provide students proper instruction with content, and utilize text books required for this course to achieve programmatic objectives
• Accurately track and assess student progress and maintain Husson University standards
• Advising the Academic Director on proposed curricular changes
• Assisting the department in experiential assessments & exercises where appropriate
• Assist in the research and assessment of industry trends and future technologies concerning curriculum

Additional Responsibilities :

Typical Qualifications

Education : Masters Degree Required. MFA or other terminal degree preferred.

Experience : At least 1-3 years of work experience in related field. College level teaching experience preferred.
