Job Summary: The Assistant Director of Revenue Cycle reports to the Director of Revenue Cycle and helps to oversee the Hutchinson Clinic’s revenue cycle which is defined as all administrative and clinical functions that contribute to the capture, management, and collection of patient service revenue. Is responsible for developing, planning, organizing, and directing all functional activities related to Business Office Operations.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Assist in development of and/or initiates, maintains, and/or revises policies and procedures for Business Office Operations.
- Assist with monitoring and support daily staff functions in all areas related to the scope of the manager's responsibility.
- Participates in revenue cycle, denial management and access management work teams.
- Assist with collaboration with other departments to direct Business Office Operation issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution.
- Assist with maintaining appropriate internal control safeguards over AR records and collection of cash. maintain compliance standards for providing accurate information on all facility or health system billings.
- Assist with Business Intelligence development, evaluation, and planning and recommendation/ needs assessment for department specific training.
- Assist with Oversight of the integrity of financial and clinical interfaces, while facilitating the development of strategic system planning
- Be responsible for maintenance of application master files and the overall configuration of the designated revenue cycle applications.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience: Two years of experience in a healthcare or administrative role or one year experience management/supervisory experience.
Education: Equivalent to a two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study or certification at a business or trade school. Bachelor of Arts or equivalent desired.
Knowledge in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with clinic staff, vendors and external agencies
Physical Requirements: Requires normal range of vision and hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, telephone and other office equipment as needed.
Requires full range of body motion.
Requires sitting for extensive periods of time.
Interpersonal Skills: The ability to motivate or educate others with respect to the importance of each other's duties within the clinic and responsibilities.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals.
Demonstrates ability to prioritize workload, with the ability to juggle several projects at one time.
Critical problem-solving ability with the ability to make decisions in information available, which is not always black and white.
Self-motivated
Other Skills: Leadership - guides individuals and groups towards desired outcomes.
Computer Skills- demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to navigate an Revenue Cycle
applications as required with minimal training.
Policies and Procedures- articulates knowledge and understanding of organizational policies, procedures, and systems.
