RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Essential Functions

 

  • Arrive on time for work, attend work regularly, and successfully complete the responsibilities of the position.
  • Provide high quality customer service and support for students, test takers, staff, and other customers.
  • Perform test proctoring duties including, but not limited to the receiving and tracking of testing materials for College-specific exams (e.g. placement tests, professional exams, and outside agency exams).
  • Manage and perform the daily proctoring duties and obligations, basic testing workstation maintenance, and test site operations for the College’s computer-based professional certification testing platforms (e.g., Pearson VUE, Kryterion, and WorkKeys).
  • Serve as the chief test administrator for the College’s various computer-based testing platforms (e.g., Pearson VUE, Kryterion, WorkKeys, and Accuplacer).
  • Implement and uphold test security procedures, such as monitoring test takers and promptly documenting and notifying the Director of Rimmer Support Services about unusual or problematic incidents or any factors impacting the security or integrity of test administration.
  • Maintain records of all testing materials, proctoring documents, and testing fees for various reports and governing entities.
  • Work cooperatively with and under the direction of the Director of Rimmer Support Services. 
  • Provide comprehensive administrative, clerical, and office support to the Director of Rimmer Support Services including, but not limited to, answering phones/taking messages, word processing, directing customer inquiries, scheduling appointments, data entry, copying, maintaining electronic and physical files, organizing, etc.
  • Occasionally travel to other HutchCC instructional sites and/or area high schools for administering plaement and/or certification exams. Train outreach and high school staff in proctoring and provide ongoing support for testing-related questions.
  • Serve as a backup test proctor for the Coordinator of Test Proctoring Services.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
  • Comply with HutchCC policies, procedures and practices.

 

Secondary

 

  • Perform other proctoring and/or administrative assistant responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Rimmer Support Services.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Rimmer Support

 

QUALIFICATIONS (Essential):

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree or higher preferred.
  • Strong professional telephone and interpersonal communication skills required.
  • Proficiency in personal computer skills including, but not limited to, keyboarding, the Windows operating system, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.), and Adobe.
  • Ability to provide excellent communication (verbal and written), strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to earn and maintain proctor certification for the College’s various computer-based testing platforms (e.g., Pearson VUE, Kryterion, ACT WorkKeys, and Accuplacer).
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with students, faculty, staff, and other customers.
  • Ability to work effectively and professionally with many people, while practicing good customer service and maintaining appropriate customer privacy in a student-centered environment.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with accuracy while meeting the deadlines and demands of a multiple-objective environment.
  • Must be a neat, dependable, and highly organized person who possesses the ability to work amiably and professionally with many people.
  • Physical requirements: Excellent verbal, written and listening skills; Must have the ability to sit for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer, and to operate additional office equipment; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; to use appropriate judgment and to apply tact and courtesy in difficult situations; The ability to understand words and respond effectively and appropriately; Attentive to detail, accurately follow written and verbal instructions, work independently; The position may require transporting of packages, testing materials, and some lifting up to 25 pounds. Sedentary to medium/Indoor work environment with a substantial amount of keyboarding required

HOURLY WAGE and STATUS:

 

The hourly rate of pay is commensurate with qualifications as determined by HutchCC administration. This full-time support staff position is 12 months annual, benefit eligible, and nonexempt.
