The Role and Expectations of Controller

Responsibilities

• Ensures accurate financial records.
• Manages accounting transactions and monthly financial close.
• Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
• Maintains historical records.
• Prepares interim financial reports and maintains all financial records.
• Supports project cost tracking and reporting.
• Preparation of financials to be reviewed by CPA for quarterly inhouse FS and annual Financial Statements.

Controller Qualifications / Skills:

• QuickBooks, Excel, and Viewpoint
• Developing standards
• Construction project accounting
• Strong analytical skills
• Accounting and bookkeeping
• SFAS and GAAP rules

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

• QuickBooks and Viewpoint Experience preferred
• CPA preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
• Proven work experience in accounting
• Deep understanding of finance
