The Role and Expectations of Controller

Responsibilities
- Ensures accurate financial records.
- Manages accounting transactions and monthly financial close.
- Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Maintains historical records.
- Prepares interim financial reports and maintains all financial records.
- Supports project cost tracking and reporting.
- Preparation of financials to be reviewed by CPA for quarterly inhouse FS and annual Financial Statements.
Controller Qualifications / Skills:
- QuickBooks, Excel, and Viewpoint
- Developing standards
- Construction project accounting
- Strong analytical skills
- Accounting and bookkeeping
- SFAS and GAAP rules

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- QuickBooks and Viewpoint Experience preferred
- CPA preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
- Proven work experience in accounting
- Deep understanding of finance
