Quality Management Systems Lead
Facility : Trenton Plants
General Description
The Quality Lead position is a hands-on position. The Quality Lead is responsible for ensuring the management of the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and First Article Inspection (FAI) requirements for the organization per the customer requirements are met. The position requires monitoring all facets of the production process, including raw material certifications, in-process quality controls, work instructions, and final inspections and / or certifications as required by the customer.
Specific Duties
- Monitor workplace operations for compliance with all environmental, health, and safety rules and procedures and immediately respond to any non-conformances.
- Perform risk assessments and consult with workers on environmental, health, and safety issues.
- Ensure the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of the processes needed for the quality management system;
- Report to Quality and Top management on the performance of the quality management system including the need for improvement; and
- Verify all inspection records for PPAP / FAI requirements to ensure their integrity and that all material specifications have been met.
- Monitor all quality control inspections throughout the production process to ensure PPAP / FAI requirements are met.
- Ensure that all quality measuring devices are regularly calibrated when utilized for the PPAP / FAI documentation.
- Keep PPAP / FAI files including materials records and quality control reports related to order.
- Issue the final inspection report and / or sign-off for each PPAP / FAI completed. The position holds final authority to detain or release PPAP / FAI orders for shipment.
- Communicate all quality issues to management promptly, along with recommendations for any corrective actions that may be necessary.
- Travel as required.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, for viewing a computer terminal distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception vision for driving, and the ability to adjust focus.
