Quality Manager
General Description
This position is responsible for ensuring the highest possible quality of all products manufactured in the facilities. The position requires monitoring of all facets of the production process be including, but not limited to, raw material certifications, in-process quality controls, work instructions and related training, and final inspections and/or certifications as required by the customer. Manage, supervisor, coach, evaluate Quality Managers working at other plants under the Director of Quality. Responsible for the QMS at all Trenton facilities.
Specific Duties
- Ensure that Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) is an integral part of the management process.
- Create a culture of integrity about and responsibility for EHS matters.
- Ensure the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of the processes needed for the quality management system;
- Report to top management on the performance of the quality management system, including needs for improvement; and
- Ensure the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization.
- Inspect all incoming raw materials to ensure their integrity and that all material specifications have been met.
- Responsible for QMS all plants
- Monitor the preparation of all shop work orders, travelers, and related documentation to ensure that they are consistent with the ISO standards as stated in the company’s quality manual.
- Supervise, train, and coach Quality Inspectors and Quality Managers as required.
- Maintain the Quality Manual and update entries as necessary, making sure to receive all required management approvals.
- Post work instructions at all workstations and follow up to make sure that adequate training has been conducted for each employee tasked with a specific responsibility.
- Monitor all Q/C inspections throughout the production process to ensure that the company is following its internal quality standards, as well as those outlined in the ISO quality manual.
- Ensure that all quality measuring devices are regularly calibrated per the internal standard.
- Keep files of all production jobs and the raw materials records and Q/C reports related to each job.
- Issue the final inspection report and/or sign off for each job completed in the shipment. The position holds final authority to detain or release any completed job for shipment.
- Communicate all quality issues to management promptly, along with recommendations for any corrective actions that may be necessary.
- Take responsibility for the timely return of all raw materials found to be defective, together with the disposal of all goods rejected that are not repairable.
- Assume a lead role in internal audits, corrective actions and the preventative action process.
- Interface with manufacturing, engineering, assembly and customers daily.

Qualifications
- Prior experience in Quality Management and product development.
- ASQ Certification in Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence, ASQ Quality Auditor, and Six-Sigma, preferred, but not required.
- Prior experience in administrative management, sales, and marketing.
- Must have the ability to work independently and possess strong decision-making, motivational, workload management, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Must be able to effectively and professionally communicate with management, staff, and customers and demonstrate sound judgment/reasoning skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- ISO-9001-2015 QMS Certification experience
- Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.

The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, for viewing a computer terminal distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception vision for driving and ability to adjust focus.
