What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sleep Studies Technician position at Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System?
Performs comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis and associated interventions under the general supervision of a Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) and/or the clinical director or designee.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs comprehensive testing, analysis and associated interventions under the direction of the technologists, medical director or designee.
- Demonstrates competency in ensuring patient safety at all times.
- Effectively communicates with patients, family members, hospital staff and physicians.
- Provides appropriate patient care and anticipates patient/family needs and comfort.
- Abides by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Basic computer and software skills.
- General medical terminology.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in every aspect of the role.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or GED.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program.
REQUIRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:
- AHA BLS is required upon hire.
- Successful completion of ASTEP certification within two years of hire.
PREFERRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:
- Registered or Certified Respiratory Care Practitioner.
- Registered Sleep Technologist.
- ACLS.
