SUMMARY:

Extrudes raw rubber into various glass run sections.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operates all equipment within the department according work instructions, including extruders (rubber, sponge, and dual durometer)

Wire forming process payoff (accumulator, roll former, heating unit and closing unit)

Glue/flock application

Coating/Primer application. Printer application

Various computerized cut units

Computer input of performance data

Insertion and extraction check

Temperature and fpm adjustments passed on hardness testing

Daily cleaning and PM of assigned equipment

Rotates regularly through all operations after receiving proper training

Uses a variety of gages and measuring devices to accurately measure and inspect in process and finished product.

Initiates action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality systems.

Identifies and records any problems relating to the product, process, and quality system.

Control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory activities, including internal quality audits.

Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

May be required to operate PC and associated software.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
