POSITION: APU Manager / Area Manager
REPORTS TO: Associate Plant Manager / Operations Manager
SUMMARY:
Manage and lead all the following activities pertaining to his/her area of responsibility; safety, personnel, quality, maintenance, efficiency and cost saving.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work cross functionally across the organization
- Work with the Plant Manager to develop Action Plan to improve Productivity and efficiency within the area.
- Track and report monthly the results of the Action Plan.
- Lead safety policy deployment in the area according to company policy and standards.
- Responsible for providing production with quality, time and cost effectiveness.
- Implement 5s program within the area.
- Manage all labor aspect within the area with the help and support of HR.
- Manage all quality aspect within the area with the help and support of maintenance department.
- Ensure that schedule is met on daily bases and address issues with material department as needed.
- Perform any duties assigned by management not outlined in the above responsibilities.
- Knowledge and practice of Hutchinson's Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures and requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises the Production Supervisors in the assembly and cement, or molding department.
REQUIREMENTS:
QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with all departments and Management Staff, and other plant and office personnel. Attention to detail and accuracy. Must have good computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must understand all processes in a manufacturing environment.
EDUCATION &/or EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of BS degree or equivalent; and 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have experience related to manufacturing systems including but not limited to lean methods, quality management and supply chain methods.
- High mechanical background.
- Excellent people skills are necessary.
- Proven ability to make decisions based on data.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Previous experience in manufacturing of Antivibration parts is recommended.
- Reviews will be on an annual basis and based on merit.
- Training will be ongoing both on-the-job and through seminars and conferences.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Must have good understanding of general mathematical reasoning. With a proven abitly to make decisions based on data.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Microsoft Office, ADP Etime, and MAPICS / AS400

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and process several abstract and concrete variables. Must be able to assess reasonableness of the analysis performed.
