What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Market Manager position at Hutchinson?
The Market Manager is responsible for all marketing activities within the industrial & vehicle market sector. The primary charter for this individual will be to develop and execute annual and long-range plans to profitably grow and expand market share in this segment.
Typical responsibilities include :
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following company safety procedures. Contribute to a Safety-First Culture by identifying Risky Situations.
- Lead and oversee market research to identify growth opportunities and market share, then develop and implement tactical plans for prioritizing, pursuing, and closing orders.
- Research, identify, and drive new and existing growth opportunities by providing effective, timely, and accurate business information. Analyze and monitor financial, technological, and industry factors to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize the effects of competitive activity, using this information to provide direction and support to the sales and engineering teams.
- Analyze the strengths of the solutions provided by Hutchinson Aerospace & Defense, Inc. and affiliates by examining, driving, and rallying support for opportunities to leverage increased market share and business growth.
- Working with internal and external customers to understand market demands, quality requirements, cost considerations, and the impact of new applications and products. Build and cultivate personal and working relationships with the field organization and customer base to become completely aware of their needs and effectively maximize opportunities.
- Maintains regular interface with all levels of plant management and personnel in MA & MI facilities as well as Sales Rep organization and Sales Team.
- Influence the engineering, operations, and support groups to optimize business growth, expenses, orders, and profitability while ensuring quality and timely delivery to all clients.
- Act as a Project Manager to successfully move projects through business and functions. Interfacing with and pulling together all functional areas to ensure customer needs are being addressed internally.
- Key metrics : Order / Sales growth, forecast accuracy, GM, NPD proposals, Success Story content for Hutchinson's digital marketing effort, and customer retention.
- Lead and oversee pricing programs, promotional spending, engineering, and manufacturing costs to achieve budgeted margin percentages and profit dollars.
- Provide Operations with timely and accurate data on customer demand to support customer requirements, as measured by on-time delivery, quality, and customer satisfaction metrics. Work closely with Operations, Quality, and Engineering to ensure quality and timely delivery of products and services to all customers.
- Coordinate processing of customer RFQs, including contract review, costing, and pricing within assigned guidelines for turnaround time, revenue, and profitability
- Coordinate account management programs with counterparts throughout the Hutchinson organization worldwide, to ensure global customers are sold and serviced consistently.
