ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Retrieve daily requirements from customers through the Electronic Data Interface (E.D.I.) and update vendor requirements and shipments.
- Interface to manufacturing operations and buyer for coordinating supply of product to customer, highlighting concerns, and resolving with recovery plans.
- Organize and execute shipments in conjunction with warehouse, report and communicate shipments on customer portals as required.
- Participate in GEMBA and communicate issues with action plans to resolve.
- Prepare weekly and monthly forecast based on customer requirements. Complete monthly result charts as required.
- Manage returnable container fleet for all customers following customer guidelines and Hutchinson standards to assure constant flow of containers, ample supply of backup containers, and receiving reimbursement for backup packaging used as a result of container stockout.
- Monitor customer portals as required, including shared weekend responsibilities.
- Maintain acceptable delivery ratings from every customer.
- Monitor customer receipts and reconcile discrepancies as needed.
- Assist Materials Manager, as required.
- Obtain critical materials, components, equipment, and services through efficient utilization of available and qualified suppliers.
- Evaluate vendor reliability and performance through the score card system.
- Coordination of purchasing responsibilities with various departments such as manufacturing, service, and engineering.
- Debit processing as required.
- Monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to ensure best quantity and quality.
- Manage MRP and planning tools as prescribed by Hutchinson Supply Chain Management to ensure raw material supply is maintained to match demand.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESS:
Indirect supervisory instructions to warehouse personnel per direction of Materials Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates are encouraged to complete degree requirements for a 4-year degree. Must have superb customer service skills to convey a positive outlook and develop a productive relationship with the customer contacts while protecting the interests of Hutchinson.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Lead and initiate conversations and challenge customers' analysts when needed.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Must be proficient in Excel, and have a working knowledge of Inventory Management Systems, including MPS and MRP. Must acquire knowledge and become proficient of internal systems (AMPS, Heijunka, Performance Boards, Action Plans and Short Loops). Must quickly learn all customer systems through each portal.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be able to work with internal and external groups to develop plans that work for all parties.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
