This position perform component and assembly evaluations and tests to customer/Hutchinson requirements; performs audits of manufacturing quality systems and processes for conformance to set-up instructions, work instructions, inspection instructions and product specifications; and assists in the development of PPAP set up instructions, work instructions and first piece inspections.

- Key support for PPAP's, production demonstration runs, process documentation, control plans, 3 Legged 5 Why, etc.
- Can serve as "lead" auditor for 1 - 3 auditors.
- Perform Poka Yoke as needed.
- Audits of inspections, quality systems and procedures.
- Evaluates and tests customer returns or warranty parts and report findings.
- Confers with quality, production, engineering and other personnel to review quality concerns and to provide disposition on rejected materials.
- Performs audits of first piece, in-process and final inspections performed by operators and auditors.
- Coordinates the segregation of nonconforming and suspect materials for transfer to the hold area.
- Reviews nonconforming material reports and reports all major nonconformances to the Quality Assurance Manager.
- Monitors and performs audits of process parameters and product characteristics as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager.
- Performs and/or reviews capability studies as required.
- Participates in CAR process to solve quality problems.
Supports the safety and environmental policies and programs to ensure a safe work environment.
The perfect person for this position has great attention to detail, knowledge of quality standards and what it takes to maintain them. This person is also a good communcator and able to convey the needs to others and hold them accountable.
Two-year technical degree of knowledge preferred. Experience in plastic injection or blow mold or metal fabrication, machining and metal forming, a plus. Requires knowledge and experience with inspection equipment such as calipers, height gages, coordinate measurement machines (as required) and optical comparators. Must have practical knowledge in blueprint reading, geometric and dimensional tolerancing, 8D creation and analysis, auditing and SPC. Quality auditor or technician experience required.
Salary : $30,000 - $45,000
