What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift Operator/Material Handler position at Hutchison Inc.?
This position will be required to work with product selection to prepare for loading.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain organization of product in warehouse.
- Unload product and place in designated location.
- Pull product per orders and consolidate onto pallets to be secured by wrapping.
- Confirm accuracy of product count.
- Wrap product pallets.
- Move completed pallets to designated location for loading.
- Operate forklifts, narrow aisle reach trucks and other material handling equipment as necessary
- Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits.
- Work alone or as a group/team depending on tasks being performed
- Follow safety rules and comply with all safety practices, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions as communicated.
- Assist with other warehouse/inventory duties and special project as assigned.
- Maintain cleanliness of the warehouse and yard areas both inside and outside.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years experience with forklift operation.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in product and warehouse distribution operations
- Must be able to lift and push/pull a minimum 75 lbs. by himself/herself during the shift.
- Previous experience operating powered warehouse industrial equipment including forklifts, narrow aisle reach trucks, pallet jacks, etc. preferred
- Must be able to stand on his/her feet for long periods of time and be able to perform tasks safely and efficiently as a part of a team.
- Stamina and good physical condition including ability to climb.
- Must have a keen attention to detail
- Must be able to read, speak and write the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public and make entries on reports and records.
- Basic math skills
- Must be able to work outdoors as needed with hot or cold temperatures
- Effective communicator
- Good teamwork building skills
- Must be available for overtime.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
