ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Completion of assigned equipment PM activities as scheduled by CMMS.
Repair and troubleshoot injection press mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Repair and troubleshoot cementing/coating mechanical, electrical, and spraying systems.
Troubleshoot and diagnose issues using machine schematics and assembly drawings.
Perform service and repair of electrical systems up to 480VAC.
Plan and complete electrical installations, including conduit, wire sizing, and grounding.
Diagnose and troubleshoot PLC and control system issues.
Coordinate with electricians and electrical contractors to ensure plant electrical system is maintained and serviced as required by NEC and recognized standards, including preventive maintenance of service transformers, switchgear and distribution bussway and bussplug disconnects.
Develop, maintain, and train personnel on site electrical safety program, including arc flash.
Complete and accurately enter work activity into CMMS.
Daily housekeeping and 5S of work areas and maintenance shop.
Required to work mandatory overtime when scheduled.
Knowledge and practice of Hutchinson’s Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures, and requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : As required for administration of electrical apprenticeship and qualified employee oversight..
REQUIREMENTS:
QUALIFICATIONS:
The employee must have good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with maintenance staff and personnel from other company departments. Attention to detail, accuracy, completion of scheduled tasks. The employee must have strong electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic aptitudes, and be able to work independently with little or no direct supervision. Employee must understand the role and function of the maintenance organization in a manufacturing environment.
EDUCATION &/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent. Licensed master electrician.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Basic math and problem solving skills required for measurements, fabrication, and completion of paperwork and reporting. Ability to determine and calculate wire sizing, conduit sizing, and electrical load calulations.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Employee must be able to navigate and input data into CMMS.
REASONING ABILITY:
The employee must have the ability to define problems, draw valid conclusions, and determine a proper course of action. The employee must be able to troubleshoot systems and breakdowns by simplifying problems, process of elimination, and recognized problem solving techniques. The employee must be able to implement necessary solutions under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor or designee.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Hilo (fork truck) operator’s license. Scissor lift operator’s license. Master electrician license. First Responder and blood born pathogen certification.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; walk; bend; use hands to grasp, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; and regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, to climb, and to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The employee will work predominately in a maintenance shop and a manufacturing environment where the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) will be required including: safety glasses, steel toed shoes with metatarsal guards, and hearing protection. The employee may also be required to use a face shield, protective gloves and sleeves, fall protection harness, and hardhat depending upon assigned work tasks.
Salary : $45,000 - $68,000
