Position: IT System Engineer
Location: Boston, MA
Salary: $110,000 - $150,000 DOE Bonus
We are on an exclusive search for a unique IT System Engineer. You will be supporting the IT infrastructure and network of private residences across the East Coast.
This role will suit someone who comes from a start-up background, maybe being the first hire in a team or assisting with setting up the initial infrastructure.
This role will also require you to have strong vendor management skills, with the company having many unique technologies that you will need to manage.
The role will eventually progress into a senior position within the first 12 -24 months, and you will begin hiring the backfill for your own role as you progress.
In the first few months of the role, you will be expected to visit sites in Boston, Maine, and Florida. They will be, without a doubt, the best onsite ‘offices’ you will have ever worked for.
An NDA will also need to be signed before progressing with this particular opening, as well as an extensive background check upon acceptance of the position.
Network Infrastructure & Security:
- Oversee, configure, and maintain Ubiquiti networks to ensure high availability, redundancy, and secure connectivity across multiple properties.
- Provide proactive monitoring and troubleshooting to maintain network integrity.
Home Automation & Control Systems:
- Manage the performance and troubleshooting of Crestron, Savant, Sonos, and Lutron HomeWorks systems.
- Ensure seamless integration of lighting, shading, security, and entertainment controls.
- Collaborate with vendors for programming needs.
AV & Entertainment Systems:
- Support high-end audio/video installations, ensuring optimal performance, calibration, and user experience in theaters, distributed audio, and multi-room video systems.
Monitoring & Alerting:
- Implement and maintain a monitoring and alerting infrastructure to proactively detect and address issues across all technology systems.
- Ensure timely response and resolution to minimize downtime.
Troubleshooting & Support:
- Serve as the primary technical contact for system issues, quickly resolving complex problems.
- Work closely with estate staff and principals to ensure high functionality.
Vendor & Project Management:
- Manage relationships with external vendors, integrators, and contractors.
- Define and enforce installation and maintenance standards to ensure high-quality execution.
Documentation & System Optimization:
- Maintain accurate records of system configurations, network diagrams, and automation programming.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for technology upgrades and enhancements.
Collaboration & Training:
- Work closely with estate managers, security teams, and household staff to provide technical support and training on system usage.
