Huxley is currently partnering with a global markets proprietary trading firm based in Chicago who is seeking a seasoned Low-Latency Network Engineer to enhance their automated trading infrastructure. This company combines the dynamism of a startup with the experience of an established firm. This role requires hands-on technical expertise and offers the opportunity to work within an entrepreneurial culture that values collaboration and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement network solutions tailored for automated trading systems.
  • Maintain high availability and low latency network infrastructures.
  • Troubleshoot network issues and collaborate on technology solutions.
  • Proactive monitoring of the network with effective capacity planning.
  • Participate in on-call support rotations, including some weekend work.
  • Mentor junior engineers from a technical standpoint.

Required Skills:

  • Expertise in multicast and unicast routing protocols such as TCP/IP, PIM, BGP, OSPF.
  • Proficiency in designing, deploying, and managing modern IP multicast networks.
  • Understanding of low latency networking concepts and tools like packet capture and tcpdump analysis.
  • Familiarity with firewall administration, site-to-site VPNs, high accuracy timing protocols, and network management software.
  • Scripting abilities in languages like Python for network automation tasks.
