Business Development Representative
Compensation: starting salary of $53,000-66,000/yr!
Location: In-office position in either Minneapolis, KS; or Sidney, NE dependent on candidate’s location.

In this role you will serve as a lead representative for new customer quote follow-up to nurture new business opportunities. There are no cold calls. You will work with customers to understand their business needs and optimize their continuous relationship with Huyett. This is a highly collaborative role where you will partner with teammates in Inside Sales, Marketing, E-Commerce, and Merchandising to ensure a successful customer experience. This is a dynamic business-to-business role, so customers generally are pleasant and professional. Our schedule is a traditional Monday-Friday workday with no nights or weekends. The role has development potential to move into more complex layers of Inside Sales operations such as: Strategic Quotes, Sales Engineering, and managerial roles.
Qualifications
Ideal Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. A college degree in Industrial Distribution or Business is desired.
- Prior customer service experience, preferably working with customers to nurture sales and business opportunities. Negotiation tact is helpful.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Effective and friendly collaborative communication.
- Competent administrative and personal organization skills.
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Office programs experience.
Work Environment: Office setting with friendly, outgoing, team-oriented staff. Candidates should anticipate a very fast-paced, productive work environment. Occasionally, the candidate will work in our manufacturing plant environment to interface with operations teammates.
