What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at HW Staffing?
We are seeking a Material Handler with Forklift experience to join the team at a facility in Lancaster, Massachusetts.
Pay starts at $17.00 per hour, operating on 1st shift 6:00am-2:30pm, with overtime required as necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED/equivalent
- 1-2 years’ warehouse experience and/or training
- Forklift training certification, valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation
- Knowledge of spreadsheet, inventory, and ERP software
- Basic math skills, including rate, ratio, percent, and bar graphs
- Able to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
The Material Handler is responsible for moving items into and out of the warehouse, loading and unloading trailers as required for receiving, shipping, or transfers, and inspecting equipment used daily to ensure proper and safe functioning. As a Material Handler, you will store incoming materials from receiving and production in proper bin locations, as well as selecting and delivering outgoing items as requested by customers and departments. The Material Handler also maintains stock inventory and materials, provides accurate inventory counts, performs daily cycle counts, and documents and updates inventory transactions accurately in documents and databases.
