Job Summary
The Supervisor, Production plays a critical role in leading the press department operators to achieve quality product and meet customer expectations. This position requires effective communication and leadership skills to interact with various leaders and team members across the plant to drive collective goals.
Essential Responsibilities
• Promote a safe work environment and drive a best-in-industry safety culture.
• Ensure product meets or exceeds quality standards through regular audits and observations.
• Analyze equipment operations, performance, and problems to resolve issues quickly and properly.
• Lead shift activities to maximize productivity and incorporate key communication meetings, preventative maintenance, training, and feedback to the team.
• Partner with maintenance to solve equipment changes and problems.
• Oversee production key performance indicators and deliverables for the team.
• Manage all aspects of the team including payroll approval, vacation approval, performance management, communication, and coaching/feedback.
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent with five years of work experience, including at least one year of supervisory experience. Experience in a refractory operation or similar process preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Knowledge of hydraulic equipment required.
• Computer operation skills, preferably Oracle ERP or similar products, required.
