HX5 is currently seeking an Engineering Analyst to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio in support of the GEARS contract at NASA Glenn Research Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
The selected candidate will support the System Architectures and Analytical Studies Branch within the Communications and Intelligent Systems Division at NASA GRC.
NASA is developing the capability for sustained human activity at greater distances and for extended durations. The Gateway concept, with the Power and Propulsion Element (PPE) as its first element, is an early and important part of NASA's evolving strategy for establishing and maintaining human presence in the lunar vicinity and ultimately to the Martian surface. GRC leads the agency's partnership with a private contractor to design and build PPE.
The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting NASA with the development of models and analysis for PPE, which will be used for independent verification and validation of the PPE contractor's analysis. This may include coverage analysis, antenna pattern analysis, pointing analysis, spectrum analysis, or software defined modem configuration analysis at various phases of the mission. The candidate will generate reports and present their results.
Required Skills :
- Expertise in MATLAB / Simulink
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently
- Excellent problem solving skills
Desired Skills :
Education / Experience :
Bachelor's degree with an Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering degree with 2 to 5 years of experience.
