Description
Under the supervision of the Director of Prevention, the LGBTQ Prevention Manager performs assigned duties relating to the implementation, evaluation, and quality assurance of Hyacinth’s Prevention Programs targeting the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning communities.
- Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Supervisory responsibilities for staff leading LGBTQ prevention programs across the agency.
- Provide a comprehensive orientation of all new prevention staff and ensure compliance with all required protocols.
- Coordinates HIV prevention retreats in concert with other prevention staff.
- Provide technical assistance and capacity building for all prevention programs and staff to ensure the highest quality in the delivery of services.
- Develop, monitor, and maintain social media campaigns for specified populations
- In conjunction with the Director of Prevention and Statewide CTR Manager, develop protocol, procedures, and marketing for PrEP awareness and community education.
- Represent Hyacinth at LGBTQ programs across the State including the HPG GBM committee, pride events and other community-level events.
- Implement a streamline procedure for developing activities throughout all of Hyacinth’s locations that are centered around CDC awareness day activities targeting these communities.
- Monitor the delivery of individual-level street and community outreach and health education/risk reduction activities such as community level and group level interventions, to ensure target population is being reached and goals and objectives are met.
- Work closely with all Client Service Managers to ensure prevention staff is engaged and responsive to regional activities, and to ensure appropriate supervision and professional development of prevention staff.
- Evaluate and develop plans to enhance program effectiveness.
- Ensure data collection as per agency procedures and funding requirements.
- Ensure confidentiality of all records.
- Assist with the preparations of monthly reports in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
- Represent the agency at monthly NJHPG and GBM Committee meetings.
- Monitor prevention staff’s completion of NJDOH and CDC required trainings.
- Conduct quarterly observation of EBI implementation for all group level interventions statewide.
- Conduct quarterly file audits for these prevention programs.
Professional Responsibilities:
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and supervisory conferences.
- Observe established administrative procedures.
- Provide written reports and maintain statistics as required.
- Represent the agency at community events, meetings and conferences.
- Attend and participate in staff training opportunities.
- Participate in evaluation activities based on program goals and objectives.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Commitment to Hyacinth philosophy
- Demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and interests.
- Successful and demonstrated completion of NJDHS HIV training series and EBI trainings.
- Bachelor's degree plus two years experience in HIV/AIDS or related field working with the LGBTQ community. A candidate, who has no degree but seems exceptionally suitable, will be considered if he/she has two additional years of relevant experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Access to currently registered car and a valid driver's license a plus.
