What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laborer (Bilingual preferred) / Seasonal position at Hyannis Country Garden Inc?
Hyannis Country Garden is seeking Laborers to assist in the maintenance of company facilities and helping with the moving of product and sale of our products.
In this Seasonal role (starts in the spring), you will :
- Receive and display green goods and hard goods merchandise as directed.
- Be responsible for upkeep of facilities and grounds : weeding and raking, debris removal, putting nursery stock in proper areas and rows, watering, and other yard duties as directed by Outside Sales Manager and Receiving Manager.
- Be able to assist customers with GARDEN selling skills in accordance with training card program.
- Repeatedly be able to work outdoors in all kinds of weather.
- Maintain company standards as stated in policy manual.
- Frequently lift to 50 lbs., at times up to 100 lbs.
- Machine operator experience preferred.
- Bilingual : English / Portuguese preferred.
Instructions for new assignments are directed daily through a working task list. A basic knowledge of plants and plant maintenance is desirable. Good interpersonal skills and the good ability to work with public are required.
A candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience as a laborer in the landscape industry helpful not necessary.
