Description: HYW 21st Century Summer Program - Full Day Summer Teachers Summer 2025
Program Goal: To provide comprehensive literacy academic support and innovative, project-based learning STEM enrichment activities for students in grades K-3 who are attending the 21st Century summer program.
Job Description: The Full Day Summer Teachers will:
- Implement Literacy Curriculum & Instruction
- Provide targeted small group intervention
- Monitor use of online literacy programs
- Review literacy data & adjust instruction accordingly
- Implement PBL Curriculum
- Modify PBL Lessons to meet student needs
- Collaborate with Community Partners on enrichment activities
- Keep daily attendance records
- Set Up Classrooms & Learning Spaces
- Supervise Meals & Recess Time
- Communicate with Families as needed.
- Follow Health & Safety Protocols
- Plan & Implement a Daily Morning Meeting
- Attend all applicable Orientations & Planning Sessions
- Assist Site Coordinator with data collection (SAYO’s) required by DESE
- Refer any discipline concerns to the attention of the Site Coordinator
- Assist in other duties as needed
- Ensure Student Confidentiality
Program Duration & Anticipated Schedule
- June 30th - July 31st - Mon-Thurs 8:00-3:00
- 12 hours of Program Preparation
- 2 hours of Program Wrap Up
- Total Hours 154
Qualifications
- Appropriate certification and/or educational background
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks (ELA & Math)
- Knowledge of and experience with literacy instruction/intervention and project based learning
- Certification in CPR & First Aid preferred.
